OutletGuard Officially Launches!

For the past two years, I’ve been hard at work, bringing what I think is a pretty bright idea to life. The OutletGuard Variety Pack answers the question, how do you babyproof coaxial outlets, ethernet jacks, and all those data outlets around the home? I worked with product engineers to turn my napkin sketches into an affordable product that looks great and gets the job done. With the product perfected and patented, we designed the packaging and picked a manufacturing house to bring it all together. And here we are – the OutletGuard Store is officially open right here at MyOutletGuard.com.

Why this? Why now?

Socket protectors, those ingenious plug-in plastic covers to babyproof electrical outlets have been around for years–they keep kids safe from shocks but leave all those other household wall outlets exposed. OutletGuard completes the Circle of Home Safety by providing an easy and attractive way for parents to cover coaxial studs, Ethernet, AC+USB jacks, and USB outlets (we include two USB covers, one each to cover most top and bottom-mounted USB receptacles).

Each OutletGuard data outlet cover has a square, flush faceplate backed by the appropriate male style plug-in that easily snaps right into each matching receptacle. The coaxial outlet covers are rounded to gently twist onto and smooth over the exposed metal stud.

For a low price, it’s now super easy to protect kids from injuries, owies and mild shocks, while protecting sensitive data outlets from dirt, grime, and pet dander. OutletGuard matches the most common outlet plate color, bright white, allowing every outlet in the home to blend into the wall when not in use.
